Three Fan-Favorite PGA TOUR Players Returning to the Valero Texas Open
Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Gary Woodland Join the Field

SAN ANTONIO, TX — The 132-player field for the Valero Texas Open continues to strengthen as tournament officials announced today three of golf’s popular players now scheduled to compete. This historical PGA TOUR event returns this spring to TPC San Antonio’s The Oaks course, March 30-April 5, a week preceding the Masters Tournament.

The latest three additions to the field – Rickie Fowler, Max Homa and Gary Woodland – have a combined 16 PGA TOUR victories.

This threesome will be joining a field that includes six of the current top-10 and ten of the top-25 players in the world. This group includes World No. 3 Tommy Fleetwood, No. 4 Justin Rose, No. 5 Collin Morikawa, No. 7 Russell Henley, No. 8 Robert MacIntyre, No. 9 and 2022 Valero Texas Open champion J.J. Spaun, No. 12 Hideki Matsuyama, No. 13 Sepp Straka, No. 23 Ludvig Åberg and No. 24 Maverick McNealy.

Brian Harman is scheduled to defend his 2025 title.

Fowler, 37, has six career wins, including THE PLAYERS Championship in 2015. The Oklahoma State graduate has started in six Valero Texas Opens with his best finish a T10 in 2024. He has three top-20 finishes in four starts on TOUR this year. Homa, 35, also has six career victories. His T25 in 2024 at the VTO is his best finish in five previous appearances. Homa was T13 last week in Florida, his best finish in five starts this year. Woodland, 41, has four TOUR titles, including the 2019 U.S. Open. The Kansas native has missed only one cut in seven appearances here with back-to-back top-10 finishes in 2021, 2022.

PGA TOUR competitors in the 132-player field have until Friday, March 27 at 4:00 p.m. Central Time to commit and can withdraw at any time.

The Valero Texas Open’s long-standing tradition of celebrating “Military City, USA” continues this year as active military, wounded veterans, and corporate supporters gather Friday night of tournament week on April 3 for this annual military appreciation banquet.
StarStarChampions fore Charity: Champions fore Charity is a fundraising program that provides participating charities and schools the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open. The Champions fore Charity program, along with Benefit for Children and Valero Texas Open raised a record $25 million, bringing the grand total to $281 million in charitable funds raised from Valero Texas Open tournament proceeds.

The 2026 fundraising campaign is presently underway and will conclude April 13. Over 230 participating charities and school programs have already raised over $16.1 million to date. At the conclusion of the fundraiser, the charities will also receive several financial incentives including a 7% matching gift provided by the Valero Texas Open. StarStarVolunteer Opportunities: Opportunities are still available for individuals looking to support our charitable mission or interested in a behind-the-scenes look at conducting a PGA TOUR tournament. The Valero Texas Open utilizes approximately 2,200 volunteers across twenty-four committees to assist in staging and managing the tournament through its Volunteer Program presented by Frost Bank. Nearly 700 Valero employees are part of this volunteer effort.
